Extronics secures another large worker safety RTLS order
On the back of our most successful year to date, Extronics is pleased to announce another significant worker safety solution sale to a customer in the Oil & Gas industry.
After seeing great results from an existing deployment of the Extronics worker safety solution, our customer wants to monitor their workers in real time and automatically muster them in case of emergency.
To reduce the amount of equipment each worker has to carry, our engineers developed an enhanced version of our proven iTAG100 RFID tag to incorporate photo ID and EV1 access control capability, providing unique all-in-one functionality. We also evolved our TGUARD tag protector to suit our customer’s preferred method of wearing the tags, as well as using our years of experience in the process industries to deliver an ATEX/IECEx Zone 1 IIC certified solution to suit our customer’s hazardous area classification.
This order comes after a highly successful year for Extronics, and we’re re-investing in technology that addresses our customers’ challenges and provides them value. “We’re currently working on several development projects,” says John Hartley, CEO of Extronics. “That includes the next evolution of our wireless range, as well as incorporating additional location technologies like GPS, access control, and bi-directional communication to our RTLS options.”
