Use in hazardous areas
The iANT218 has been assessed by Extronics engineers as meeting the international intrinsic safety standards for simple apparatus. This means it is safe to use in hazardous areas when connected to a suitable certified wireless device with an intrinsically safe RF output, such as the iWAP107 or other solutions using the iSOLATE501.
The iANT218 antenna cannot be used in the hazardous area when connected to an RF source that is not intrinsically safe.
NOTE: The iANT218 contains aluminium, and so is not suitable for use in Group I, Zone 0, or Ga environments.
Indoor and outdoor use
The iANT218 can be used both indoors and outdoors. It is made from durable UV-resistant polycarbonate with good thermal shock resistance. Rated to IP67 and with a temperature range of -40°C to +70°C, the iANT218 is suitable for most applications.
