Typical Configuration
A typical solar power system will consist of three primary components:
- A photovoltaic panel that converts solar energy into electricity
- A battery pack that stores energy for use as required
- A solar control unit that manages, monitors, and protects the battery pack
Extronics Ex battery solutions ensure you remain compliant with the regulatory standards for charging a battery in the hazardous area. If necessary, the control unit can contain power conversion to provide regulated AC or DC outputs the suit critical equipment being powered.
Depending on the exact application, our individual components and stand-alone energy solutions can be combined to provide a bespoke Ex solution for Zone 1, Zone 2 and even CID2 hazardous areas. Made from high quality materials, our solutions are suitable for both on- and off-shore installation.

Extronics UPS system is customisable to include solar power options when mains power is not available. Ex batteries can be charged exclusively from our Ex solar panels and configured to meet your specifications.
