Now available: new iRFID500 handheld passive UHF RFID tag reader
The latest addition to Extronics’ passive RFID range is now available – the iRFID500 handheld Bluetooth passive RFID reader.
It’s designed to improve efficiency around applications such as asset tracking, maintenance planning and recording, and auditing and compliance.
Powered by technology from market leading CAEN RFID, the iRFID500 is designed to integrate with existing business processes and Industrial Internet of Things networks to improve efficiency, increase productivity, and reduce downtime. We looked at problems our customers were having with current manual methods and existing passive RFID readers, and used our research to create a practical, cost-effective solution – the iRFID500.
More and more businesses are moving away from bulky, heavy PDAs, replacing them with smart devices and powerful Bluetooth accessories. The iRFID500 enables this trend, helping you to be more productive. Use the iRFID500 either with a Windows, Android, or Apple smart device via Bluetooth or as a standalone unit, for greater operational flexibility. Its lightweight and ergonomic design makes it easy to carry without getting in the way, and a battery life of over 12 hours means it’s practical for long shifts. Everything about the iRFID500 is designed to make work easier for you, even down to the stylus nib, which makes it simple to input information on a smartphone or tablet to record details like maintenance tasks or pull up asset inspection checklists.
Our customers are located across the world, so the iRFID500 holds radio approvals for both ETSI and FCC frequencies. It’s also available either as ruggedised for industrial use, or as fully certified for hazardous areas in accordance with ATEX, IECEx, and North American regulations for explosive atmospheres.
The iRFID500 reads passive UHF RFID tags, such as those in Extronics’ intrinsically safe iTAG500 range. Highly durable and suitable for use in hazardous areas, the iTAG500 series was designed with Omni-ID and uses their unique plasmonic structure for superior performance in metallic environments, such as those found in the process industries.
