Extronics Staff Raise Money for Tiny Steps with a Plank Challenge
Like many companies, Extronics has taken to using online team meetings to keep connected during these unusual times. During a recent team huddle, a discussion about home exercise got underway. Chris Sadler, Business Development Manager for the Americas, shared his exercise routine and the dreaded plank challenge.
It quickly turned competitive, with people sharing their best time, banter over technique, and what qualifies as a real plank.
Extronics CEO, John Hartley, suggested we set a date for a company plank challenge.
“It is important to feel connected and have some fun as a team during these strange times. The plank challenge was a way we could share some laughs as a team and keep ourselves active.” John continued, “We have a great team of people at Extronics and like many businesses, we want to stay connected during the global lockdown. The plank challenge was a great way of doing that and I would like to thank everyone for taking part and raising money for a good cause”.
After weeks of training, on May 13th 2020, the Extronics team took to the floor for the first company plank challenge.
As well as providing a brilliant source of fun and games for everyone at Extronics, it also helped raise money for a fantastic charity – TinySteps.
About Tiny Steps
Our aim is to provide a sensory play area and social cafe for children and young people with additional needs and their families in the Northwich/Winsford area in Cheshire West and Chester, UK.
It is often hard to find activities that are accessible and enjoyable for families in this situation. Our plan is to change this by providing this service within our local community.
Tiny Steps is a non-profit making charity run by volunteers and is reliant heavily on donations. If you would like to donate, please visit the website at www.tiny-steps.co.uk/donate/.
Flam ‘n’ Bull come out of retirement for the plank challenge
Extronics even roped in some help from the company’s mascots, Flam ‘n’ Bull. However, Flam may have misunderstood what a plank challenge is!
Thank you to the Extronics team for pulling together during this global crisis to raise money for a fantastic cause.
Stay safe and keep connected.
