Exciting Growth as Two New Colleagues Join the Team
We are delighted to welcome Emily Pyle, Digital Marketing Executive who joined us in September, and Will Gurney, Configured Product Engineer who joined in October, to the Extronics team. Their skills and fresh perspectives will strengthen our capabilities and support the continued growth of the business.
To help everyone get to know them a little better, we sat down for a quick Q&A. From why they chose to join Extronics, to what they are most looking forward to in their roles, along with a few fun questions, here is what they shared.
Emily Pyle, Digital Marketing Executive
What made you choose to join Extronics?
What really drew me in was the product range. I love tech and the idea of learning about a completely new industry sounded exciting. During the interviews, everyone was genuinely friendly and interested in getting to know me, which made a great impression and put me at ease straight away. I also wanted a role with plenty of variety, where no two days feel the same, and this job completely offered that. The flexible working policy was another big plus because it helps make that balance between work and family life actually achievable.

I am really excited to start rolling out new marketing campaigns. I enjoy figuring out what will catch people’s attention, which channels they are actually using, and how to give them a great experience from start to finish. I am looking forward to getting creative, trying out new ideas, and seeing what really works.
Describe the experience or skills you bring that will make an impact on the team.
I have built a good foundation in digital and campaign marketing, and I am looking forward to putting that experience into practice here. My background includes working on multi-channel campaigns with a focus on engaging audiences and supporting lead generation. Monitoring performance data and using insights to shape what comes next has always been part of the way I work, helping activity continue to improve. Collaboration with different teams is something I really enjoy, making sure marketing supports wider business goals.
If you had to sum up Extronics in three words, what would they be?
Innovative, Supportive, Passionate.
Name something that’s still on your bucket list.
I’d love to go on a Disney Cruise! Everyone wo knows me knows I love all things Disney and now I have my son, it’s someone else to also share the magic with.
Looking back, what advice would you give to your younger self?
Relax a little and trust the process. I used to put a lot of pressure on myself with strict timelines for when I thought I should achieve certain goals, but life does not always follow a set plan. A perfect example is my career. I never imagined working in marketing; it was not something I had even considered growing up, yet it has become something I genuinely love. Sometimes the best opportunities are the ones you never expect.
Will Gurney, Configured Product Engineer
What made you choose to join Extronics?
Extronics represented an opportunity to push myself with a new working challenge. In particular, I would have to develop my 3D modelling skills, my understanding of radio engineering, and learn a new set of software which uses pseudo-code to operate. All of this requires me to extend my current abilities and push me solidly out of my comfort zone. The interviews I had gave me the impression that the team is understanding, very experienced and ready to support my technical progression. I am happy to say this is still the case since I’ve started!

I am looking forward to being able to fully support the CPG team when I am properly up to speed with the work. Working with Driveworks will go a long way to making general and special ordering easier by simplifying bills of materials, drawings and instruction manuals.
Describe the experience or skills you bring that will make an impact on the team.
I am bringing with me my Physics background, which centres around logical working and problem solving, which will tie directly into the Driveworks design automation.
If you had to sum up Extronics in three words, what would they be?
Experienced, Dynamic, Multi-faceted.
Name something that’s still on your bucket list.
Still on my bucket list is quite a lot, but one big thing is doing a skydive. I would love to complete at least one in my life.
Looking back, what advice would you give to your younger self?
I would tell my younger self to start running earlier – I enjoy going out for runs now and if I had started training sooner I would be in much better shape for it!
