He’ll identify the main technologies currently on the market and how they’re used, look at improvements in RTLS technologies over recent years, and how the growth of complementary technologies (such as Wi-Fi) has enabled RTLS deployments to demonstrate clear business improvements and higher ROI. John will use a real-life case study showing how RTLS technology can benefit customers.
Gary will be presenting a talk on Intrinsic Safety Applications in Automation Theatre 3 at 11am on 6th June. He will discuss how to fit surge protection (field device & control room) into IS loops, by looking at what the standards say and how to document the IS loop. This will be followed by how to run non-IS cables through IS trunking, and taking a look at the impact of gas group and zone on IS cable lengths. We will then move onto the impact and issues with using galvanic isolators in SIL loops, and finish by looking at the use of mobile devices in hazardous areas.
