An underground liquid hydrocarbon storage facility in Asia Pacific wanted to locate their workers and reduce the cost of ventilation. With the Extronics RTLS, that became a reality.
CorrosionRADAR leverages wireless technology to provide long-range Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) monitoring. When they needed a way to deploy their innovative solution safely to customers in ATEX and IECEx hazardous areas, they turned to Extronics. With our grounding in wireless expertise and long years of experience providing safe products for hazardous areas since 1992, we were able to find the best way forward. The Background CorrosionRADAR designs and supplies the world’s longest-range Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) monitoring technology for pipelines, refineries, and more. The patented system enables proactive automated monitoring instead of time-consuming and reactive manual inspections – reducing downtime, reducing risk, and reducing costs. Corrosion and moisture sensors are permanently embedded adjacent to pipelines, tanks, towers or vessels, under any insulation. These sensors then provide real-time data on the asset health with regards to corrosion or moisture presence. The CorrosionRADAR system can […]
Fine Organics, a leading chemical manufacturer, needed to create a cost-effective wireless network to access process data from within their hazardous areas.
There are maximum EIRP (Effective Isotropic Radiated Power) levels allowed in hazardous areas. This affects the deployment of hazardous area wireless devices. The risk is that RF induced in plant structures can act in the same way as an antenna, with the subsequent energy having the capacity to spark at ignition capable levels. To ensure real time data collection of the Sense® platform, John Crane needed an RF isolation solution as part of their hazardous area wireless gateway. The gateway communicates directly with the John Crane Sense® Turbo to offload data to the cloud and Sense® Apps. Extronics iSOLATE technology offers OEMs’ a high quality and extremely competitive RF isolation solution. Providing intrinsically safe RF outputs, John Crane can deliver a wireless solution compliant to IEC 60079 directives. Read the full use case below.
