About Us

Specialists in Hazardous Area Equipment

Founded in 1992, Extronics has years of experience serving the process industries and we pride ourselves on understanding the requirements of each customer’s environment.

We specialise in developing and manufacturing ATEX, IECEx, and North American certified equipment for use in hazardous areas, and rugged industrial products for harsh environments. We serve customers around the world from industries such as oil and gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, and mining.

Our Vision

We’re dedicated to delivering world-class products and solutions that help our customers work smart, safe, and connected. Working hard, doing right by our customers, and taking responsibility are at the core of Extronics.

Smart, Safe and Connected

Your processes are complex, highly dynamic, and cost sensitive; operational efficiency is key. We help our customers protect their workers whilst increasing productivity.

Let us help you streamline your business processes; we leverage our knowledge to develop products and solutions that ensure you get the right solution for your application.

Each product or solution we develop is practical, effective, and complies with regulations. We’re experts in creating equipment that’s certified safe to use in ATEX, IECEx, and NEC 505 hazardous areas, with particular specialisation in intrinsic safety. All of our non-certified equipment is designed to be durable, capable of prolonged use in harsh industrial environments.

Technology

We’ve developed expertise in creating wireless solutions, working with leading providers such as Cisco, Aruba, Siemens, and more to deliver enterprise-class networking.

We also leverage that networking knowledge to deliver AeroScout Real Time Location Solutions for worker safety and accountability, as well as asset management. Our team has worked with AeroScout active RFID technology since 2006, and with the backing of STANLEY Healthcare, we provide high quality customer service and forward-thinking product developments.

As well as real time location, we also offer asset tracking using passive RFID and barcode technology. You can operate these either standalone, or connect via Bluetooth to a smart device for an IIoT integrated solution.

To keep your site operational, even in emergencies, we offer a range of back up power options. We can adapt these to suit your specific application using our team of experienced engineers.

For tasks requiring visual inspection, why not take a look at our cameras? With handheld or fixed varieties available, this technology is proven in use across the world.

Quality and Compliance

You can be confident that we consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements. We also have rigorous processes and improvement plans, and react quickly to customer feedback to ensure your satisfaction.

Our management system is certified to ISO9001:2015 and BS EN ISO/IEC 80079-34:2011 for explosive atmosphere equipment manufacture. We undergo regular audits to make sure that we’re fully adhering to these standards.

Extronics holds an ATEX quality module, enabling our products and engineered solutions to be designed and manufactured in accordance with the ATEX directive 2014/34/EU, and we’re also certified to design and manufacture to the IECEx standard. For North America, we possess MET certificates for a number of products alongside approvals from MSHA.
