Production Planner

Extronics is looking for a production planner to add to their growing successful team. You will have worked previously in a production planning or material resource planning environment.  You will be responsible for the production planning of  Extronics range products and specialist one off engineering solutions.

  • Capacity planning of the engineering and production teams.
  • Overseeing current work-in-progress.
  • Overall management of  production planning in a busy engineering environment.
  • Communicating the schedule to both engineering and production
  • Overseeing forecasting on series products.
  • Reorder point planning, Inventory balancing for series products.
  • Product management with a focus on continuous product improvement.
  • Costings to ensure pricing models are consistently accurate.
  • Liaising with the engineering department and updating standard operating procedures where changes are required.
  • Planning of the engineering change and the impact on production.
  • Liaising with the sales channels for estimated lead times on prospective jobs and projects.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills.

  • Project planning skills, proficient with Gantt chart management tools. Experience with Microsoft project is a distinct advantage.
  • Exposure and an understanding of MRP systems. Extronics currently uses Sage Manufacturing, however a new ERP system will be implemented by Q2 2012.
  • An engineering background would be an advantage to this role, as the successful candidate will be working closely with engineering and production personnel.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel,  and Outlook are essential. 
  • Experience dealing with suppliers and sub-contractors developing relationships and ensuring tight deadlines are communicated and adhered to.

Project Engineer - Middlewich

Due to recent success and a growing workload, Extronics is looking to recruit an experienced Project Engineer for their busy technical team. This is a varied role with the primary focus being the design & engineering of explosion-proof and intrinsically safe systems.  The role will encompass:

  • Project Management.
  • Preparation of bills of material
  • Specifying components to meet project requirements
  • Preparation of quality build and test plans.
  • Preparation of mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Design of enclosures & electrical systems to customer specifications.
  • Customer liaison inc. quote preparation

The successful candidate will have worked previously in an electrical design and project engineering role, and have experience designing and managing engineering projects.  Good IT literacy inc. CAD & excellent written & oral communication are essential attributes.

Estimating Engineer - Middlewich

Extronics is looking for a Estimating Engineer to add to their growing successful team. You will have worked previously in an engineering estimating role, and have experience  bidding electrical control systems.  You will be responsible for the estimating projects of varying complexity from 1000 to 500,000. In this role you will be expected to deal with several estimates at one time therefore good organisation skills are essential.

This is a new role within the organisation with a primary focus on the estimating of both systems utilising finished products, and one off projects utilising materials and labour for the design and engineering of specialised explosion proof and intrinsically safe systems.  The role reports to the technical manager and involves contact with the sales team as well as dealing directly with customers.

Other Duties include

  • Preparation of the quotations which will be sent to the customer.
  • Reading engineering drawings in order to ensure that customer needs are met
  • Reading Tender documentation and putting forward a solution which meets the requirements.
  • Pre-Sales support of projects, and systems using finished product
  • Project Handover, ensuring a smooth transition from estimate to order and production.
  • Dealing with customer complaints which relate to engineering services.
  • Reviewing finished projects to ensure margins are met and feedback of metrics into the quotation systems.
  • Development of the metrics used to successfully bid project work.

You will be a career minded person who has experience in estimating systems of a electrical, control or electronic nature. You will have the ability to understand technical documentation including both electrical and mechanical drawings in order to prepare estimates.

A knowledge of basic control systems engineering will be advantageous, in order to recommend the correct solution for the customer. You will be proficient user of the Microsoft Office suite of products, a knowledge of IT systems including networking and wireless systems is an advantage however training will be given. Self-motivation, ambition, strong personality, good written and verbal communication and organisational skills required.
