Extronics is pleased to support the South African Flameproof Association (SAFA) at their annual symposium on Thursday 24th May 2018, held at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, South Africa. The SAFA Symposium 2018 aims to share knowledge and information on explosion prevention, and the event is CPD accredited.

Our Sales Partner, Extech Safety Systems, will be exhibiting at the SAFA Symposium 2018 to demonstrate some of our key products. Extronics’ own Glynn Warren, one of our Product Managers, will be speaking during the symposium on “New Technology, Communication, and Networking in Hazardous Areas”. During this session, he’ll be walking attendees through the latest communication technologies available in hazardous areas and overcoming the challenges associated with heavy industrial environments, plus how to leverage technologies such as Wi-Fi for wider business improvements in addition to communication. Glynn will also be participating in the panel discussion on “New Concepts for High-Tech Hazardous Areas”, the theme for the SAFA Symposium 2018.

As in previous years, the SAFA Symposium 2018 will be preceded by the SAFA Awards Dinner 2018 on Wednesday 23rd May, where the winners of the annual SAFA Awards of Excellence will be announced. This event aims to celebrate key figures in the industry and outstanding contributions to developments in safety and efficiency.

The South African Flameproof Association is a non profit body, and is an association of companies involved in explosion prevention/protection techniques for equipment used in hazardous atmospheres in industry and mining. It comprises almost 200 member companies which include both end users and manufacturers, as well as relevant government bodies and equipment testing houses. The association has branches in Gauteng (Johannesburg), KwaZulu-Natal (Durban), and the Cape (Cape Town).
