Mining can often present unique challenges not seen across hazardous areas in other industries. Limited space, rugged and irregular working environments, maintenance access, security requirements, and operational needs all contribute to a specific set of requirements for any hazardous area infrastructure. It is for these reasons that extra certification is often required to address the particular hazards posed by enclosed location, such as those seen in mining operations.

Location Tracking
Our Real Time Location Systems (RTLS) have worker safety at their core. Track the location of personnel using multiple location technologies including RSSI trilateration Wi-Fi sniffing, BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), LF (Low Frequency) and GPS (open mines only) location data. The ELE (Extronics Location Engine) can gather the tag data from various connectivity technologies such as Wi-Fi, LoRa, cellular or Bluetooth to suit the client’s infrastructure requirements.
Worker Safety
The inclusion of emergency call buttons, fall detect and man down functionality on select tags means assistance can be directed quickly to the workers location in the event of an emergency. Extronics Hybrid RTLS solutions give you confidence in your worker safety.
Asset tracking and Utilisation
Ensuring you know exactly where key assets are, time on tool and what you have in your inventory saves time and increases operational efficiency.
