The BA378C provides an accurate local display of temperature in Deg C or Deg F from most common thermocouples or resistance thermometers, plus a linearised 4-20mA analogue output current which may be scaled to represent any temperature range. Differential temperatures can be measured using two thermocouples or resistance thermometers, and the millivolt output from pressure, weighing or position transducers can also be displayed in engineering units. 250V galvanic isolation between the input and 4-20mA output allows earthed thermocouples to be used without degrading performance. The display has large, easy to read liquid crystal digits, and for installations in poorly illuminated areas an optional display backlight is available.

Optional alarms provide two galvanically isolated solid state outputs which may be independantly programmed as high or low trips with normally open or closed contacts. In addition to operating alarms, simple on/off control can be performed with an adjustable setpoint and hysteresis.
