The LN1000 alarm annunciator provides a visual display of remote alarm contacts to alert a process operator to a condition which needs attention. With this information, the operator can acknowledge the alarm and initiate actions to correct it. The alarm sequence controls the display depending upon the field contact status and operator interactions. When an alarm is signalled a sounder and possibly a flashing beacon is activated to attract the operator's attention, and a bright LED on the annunciator pinpoints the affected channel. A customised legend gives details of the plant parameter that needs attention, and an LCD continuously indicates the channel's status. The LCD displaying channel status with alarm sequences A (Alarm), N (Normal), F (First Up) and I (Inhibited).

The system is extremely flexible, consisting of a 12 or 32 channel annunciator chassis and LN1000/AC input cards which have two input channels. As many or as few input cards as required can be fitted, up to the limit of the case used. The power is provided by a galvanic isolating interface. Safe area contacts can be connected to the LN1000 unit via the DAE149. The DA-125 is a single tone 90dBA output horn, and can be driven directly from the LN1000 annunciator panel without an additional power supply or interface, making it a cost effective add on to the LN1000 where a high audible tone is not required.
