The Challenger-WiFi is a battery powered mobile and wireless version of the market leading Challenger intrinsically safe PC Terminal. Designed for applications where the operator needs to move around a plant with a PC and interface with the main control system. Power is supplied via high capacity ATEX approved battery packs that will power the complete system for at least 12 hours. If longer run times are required a version can be supplied where the battery pack may be quickly changed for a freshly charged one.

Available with either a 15" or 18" display, with or without touch screen and a choice of keyboards, pointing devices and operator ID systems such as a card reader or finger print reader. The Challenger-WiFi uses a powerfull single board PC with embedded Windows XP. The user can either run their software locally or using "Windows Remote Desktop" just transfer the screen data and run the applications on a PC in the safe area. Wireless LAN hardware is based upon Symbol Technologies hardware but other leading manufacturers such as Cisco Systems may be supplied upon request.
