10 Downing Street Calls!
Paul Lazor Sales Director at Extronics with responsibilities for Sales and Marketing in the UK and Globally was recently invited to number 10 Downing Street to meet with the Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Lord Mandelson.
The fact that nearly two hundred other people attended the meeting
meant that the PM was not intending to seek advice from Paul on how
to run the country! Perhaps that was a blessing in disguise,
regardless of party politics.
On a serious note the invitations to number 10 were issued to a number of Small and Medium Enterprise organisations that have been actively engaged in the development of their profiles in overseas markets.
The UK Trade and Investment organisation provide business opportunities, expert trade advice and support to UK-based companies wishing to grow their business overseas. Extronics has benefited in its work with the UKTI by developing its business in areas such as South East Asia which present many financial and physical obstacles for the small company.
An intense development programme within Extronics which embraces the many aspects of the Hazardous Area market including Vision and Voice Technology, Gas Measurement and Analysis through to WiFi for Data Communications , People Tracking and Asset management has fuelled Extronics drive to extend its portfolio world wide by the appointment of Sales Partners in strategic locations. John Hartley, Managing Director of Extronics has established communications with some of the worlds Enterprise Class wireless manufacturers bolstering the drive to provide cost efficient and effective communications to Hazardous Areas across the world.
Upon Paul's return from number 10, Paul commented, "It was an honour and a privilege and a great experience meeting with such highly eminent people and the opportunity to walk and look around the building was equally as interesting. However I did notice that the picture gallery of past prime ministers ended with Tony Blair at the very top of the buildings staircase, which raised the question as to where Gordon Brown's picture would be placed as there didn't appear to be any room for him?"
